Kolar finished the regular season with seven catches for 87 yards and a touchdown on nine targets.
ANALYSIS
The second-year tight end started to see more playing time after Mark Andrews' leg injury kept him out from Week 11 onward. Kolar is more proficient as a blocker at this stage of his career than his counterpart, Isaiah Likely, who is starting to break out as a pass-catcher. Down the stretch, Kolar averaged 25 snaps per game and caught six of seven targets for 74 yards and a score on 41 routes. With Likely's emergence and Mark Andrews set to return next season (if not sooner), Kolar may be blocked from seeing significant playing time again in 2024. However, if Andrews remains out for the divisional round matchup against the Texans, Kolar could be in line for plenty of snaps.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
May have important rookie role
Kolar, who the Ravens drafted in the fourth round in April, could have an important pass-catching role during his rookie season, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The Iowa State product was highly impressive as a receiver over his final three college seasons, racking up 157 receptions for 2,044 yards and 20 touchdowns across 36 games. Zrebiec points out Kolar could have an important role right from the start of his NFL career despite the presence of All-Pro Mark Andrews at the top of the depth chart. The Ravens opted not to replace Marquise Brown with another top-flight receiver following his trade, and the team instead seems to want to recreate the type of deep tight end room that helped propel Lamar Jackson to career-best success in 2019.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2022
The second-year tight end is looking to make his mark after being sidelined for much of his rookie year. Kolar did flash in his one game with significant snaps by catching four of six targets for 49 yards in the playoff loss to the Bengals. Kolar does face some challenges for 2023, though as the new offense may steer towards more three-receiver sets and fewer multiple-tight end looks that were staple under Greg Roman. Beyond that, it's a tough depth chart to climb with Mark Andrews entrenched as the engine of the passing game and fellow second-year man Isaiah Likely, who had a strong rookie campaign. Kolar's size (6-foot-6, 250 pounds) could help get him on the field as a blocker, but he will need to show some significant improvement to carve out a role in the passing game.
